One Light Rail Funding Method

For you big light-rail supporters out there, here is a popular way of funding it: pork-barrel spending and earmarks. Take this example from Charlotte.
With $18 million earmarked by the U.S. Senate for Charlotte’s light rail line to UNC Charlotte, it could mean good things for Cabarrus County’s hopes for a light rail line connecting to the metropolitan area.

In February, Concord City Council asked the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce to lead a collaborative effort for a Cabarrus light rail feasibility study.
