McCain Ad: The Media's Love Affair With Barack Obama

There is no doubt Barack Obama is the "rock-star candidate" of this race. The McCain campaign is hoping to capitalize off of the media's love affair with Obama in these new ads. These actually resemble The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, as it pokes fun at cable news.

This is definitely an interesting direction the campaign is going with. While I agree with the assertion that Obama has received a relatively free ride – and Maverick definitely has the right to pissed at The New York Times right now – it must also be acknowledged that McCain received the same treatment in his 2008 primary and the 2000 primary. Ask Dubya about that love affair the media had with McCain and the Straight Talk Express.

As Dee Dee Myers notes here, it had to be a tough choice for the MSM in terms of their crush this year.
